Where I Came From
As a young adult, I traveled the world in solitude, seeking new sources of influence. I hungered for the knowledge that only raw experience could give me. I read voraciously as I adopted self-learning as a lifestyle. From this, I learned how a single book could change the life of the right person reading it at the right time.

The most influential books stay with me. I discovered a deep appreciation for science by reading Isaac Asimov’s Intelligent Man’s Guide to Science at age 19. His words perfectly articulated how all human knowledge was connected. That single exposure changed the whole course of my intellectual development.

I was grateful to people who made their unique thoughts communicable through books, videos, and recorded lectures. My worldview grew because I had access to new ideas everywhere I went in the world. I knew I wanted to have a similar influence on others.
How I Became an Author and Publisher
My introduction to independent publishing came abruptly and with misfortune. In 2015, I was approached by the owner of an independent publishing company about having my first business book created. She convinced me I could create something that would be valued and respected in the market.

Unfortunately, after paying a large deposit, I learned I had been taken advantage of. I soon learned the woman who gave me the initial inspiration to publish my words had dropped the project and cut off communication with me, keeping my money for herself. The self-publishing industry is laden with similar stories of fraud.

I became determined then to finish the book on my own. That book was Brand Identity Breakthrough, and it became an Amazon bestseller in Public Relations and Sales for Small Business upon launch. It wasn’t an easy process, but months of meticulous writing, editing, and research showed me the tactics I would need to ensure success (even with no pre-existing audience or brand recognition).

With the success of my first book, I realized I had stumbled onto a highly-underutilized market medium. I thought deeply about how independent publishing could bring previously unknown ideas into mass adoption in the world. A few months later, I released my second book, Travel As Transformation, which achieved a similar level of market success and validated my beliefs. Since then, I have been constantly writing and applying the techniques learned through trial and error to help other aspiring authors share information.
My Role with Identity Publications
I started Identity Publications to give a polished voice to people seeking an outlet for their unique perspectives on important topics. I’ve been able to draw on my experience of teaching and coaching around the world to craft messages for people who deserve a space to spread their ideas – earning money, recognition, and visible influence for their contributions to humanity.

My professional background of education and sales around the world puts me in a unique position to help authors figure out what they are trying to say. I can work with them to make their messages complete, yet accessible, to the target audience that will become their best customers. My specialty lies in informing people of opportunities they did not know they had and ethically convincing them to act.

If you aren’t sure if our services are right for what you want to communicate, you can contact me directly by emailing

Marketing & Design

Where I Came From
I grew up in an industrial town in Ukraine, which was mostly devoid of literature and culture. For most of my life, I didn’t feel like I fit in with the traditional Ukrainian way of life, where people seemed to live the same way as their parents. There was no meaningful change. I needed something more.

I was deeply curious about the world, and I felt like no one understood me. Books introduced me to the world’s greatest intellectuals and artists. Listening to lectures and TED Talks in my free time taught me how to think rationally and solve the basic problems of life on my own. I learned to celebrate my artistic side and intelligence... to be proud of being different from my humble surroundings.

Determined not to become trapped in a conventional life, I studied foreign languages in my free time, like English, Spanish, and French, on top of my native Russian and Ukrainian tongues. I started by watching foreign movies, then reading foreign books, and finally realizing there were courses and podcasts I could listen to for free or little money to help me improve with native speakers.

When I was finally ready to leave Ukraine, I joined student exchange programs and found employment in other countries, like Canada and Turkey, eventually landing a rewarding marketing internship in Barcelona, Spain.

The more I worked, read, and interacted with new people, the more I saw how noisy the world was. There is an endless flow of information to fill our minds, but little of it makes us think in radical new ways. Nothing challenges what we were raised to believe. The same messages get recycled, and the people who could innovate important new ideas usually get left in the shadows.
How I Became an Author and Publisher
I joined Identity Publications to promote information that would cut through the clutter. It is fulfilling for me to make a measurable difference for curious minds. Just as I wish I had more voices to guide me in my upbringing, I can now do the same for other ambitious young people. And because we can translate the works we produce into foreign languages and promote them on international markets, we can share these lessons almost anywhere in the world.

The first book I oversaw the creative design for was a cookbook, written by my own mother, Olga Petrenko, which has since won award and received critical acclaim for its visual design. Intimacy On The Plate is a collection of recipes and scientific research on aphrodisiacs my mother began as a passion project many years ago in Ukraine. She never thought she could see it published as a beautiful hardcover book, let alone be translated into five languages. My first book will be released on Amazon in spring 2017.
My Role with Identity Publications
